Train Your Own
The Investment
We offer a specialized training program for dogs aiming to potentially obtain certification as assistance dogs through our renowned PTSD Dogs program. So we need to ensure that this program will work for both you and your dog.
The Assessment takes considerable resource from our side to deliver, and we need to ensure our costs are covered. The investment for the Assessment Stage of the PTSD Dogs Australia 'Train Your Own' program is:
$1,000.00
This fee is paid at the time of booking your appointment.
If the assessement is unsuccessfull, then we will offer the option of a second assessment within 6 months, to give you time to work on what we advise (if appropriate). The second assessment would be at a reduced rate of $500.00
(Please Note: The Assessment takes place in a face-to-face 2 hour session on the Sunshine Coast. The fee for the Assessment does not take into account any potential travel or accomodations costs.)
We are dedicated to supporting individuals through the power of well-trained assistance dogs.

To support you we will complete a six-monthly welfare check to ensure you are both on track, it is our intention to support you and keep the standard of our PTSD Assistance Dogs high. We are respected within the industry as the leading Assistance Dog Organisation training specifically PTSD.
The investment for each annual PAT is $550 PATs will take around 2 hours to complete with your trainer. In the event you don’t successfully pass the PAT we advise on training and the PAT can be resat within 30 days. In the event 3 attempts are failed in a row, PTSD Dogs Australia retains the right to withdraw the team from the Assistance Dog Program.
